Our Secretary for the Scottish & Irish DC, Susan Quinn, has taken inspiration from the SNU's Warm Front Campaign and created a warm space for her own community. Susan benefitted from advice and support from her local district community council. Susan was moved to create a warm and safe space for her rural Community so she sought advice and funding to help promote the campaign.

The warm space provides a hub for the local residents, open from 12pm till 10pm daily, offering access to welfare rights, sign posting to local services, a warm social space and offering homemade food. Since opening last month there has been on average 15 people daily at the venue which is great.  It isn't just a warm space, it's a library, games area, friend zone, craft zone and advice hub.

This campaign has also been actively supported by her community, local neighbours often providing donations of homemade soup and bread etc. Silver Birch teaches that service is the coin of the spirit.

Susan has surely demonstrated service in action and enriched her local community in these difficult and trying times.
